A technical product studio

We build the sort of things you'd want us to build for you.

Little Rascal is a small UK studio that helps organisations design, build and operate secure web applications — the kind that behave like products rather than projects. Privacy-first, security by default, honest about limits.

How we work

Small engagements. Clear scope. Real ownership of the result.

01

Craft over speed

Software that lasts is the cheaper option, once you factor in what happens after launch. We choose the boring, proven path when it is the right one, and reach for something newer only when it earns its place.

02

Security by default

Every project ships with the security posture we would want as a customer — encrypted at rest, encrypted in transit, hardened response headers, secrets kept where they belong. Not a feature to be added later.

03

Restraint over flourish

Interfaces that get out of the way, motion that signals state changes only, copy that says what it means. If a decoration doesn't help the user do their job, it doesn't ship.

04

Ownership through documentation

Nothing we build depends on us being available forever. Every project ships with the documentation your team needs to run it, extend it, or hand it to someone else without a phone call.

The short version

Product-shaped consulting, without the sales layer.

Most consultancies scale by charging you for people you'll never meet. We don't. Little Rascal is a small team by design — the person you talk to is the person building the thing. That keeps decisions cheap, feedback loops short, and honesty affordable.

We work in small, well-scoped engagements — usually four to twelve weeks — and we finish. When the scope grows we say so early, agree it in writing, and price it in daylight.
